Long time no chat, friends!
This year has provided us with a ton of really great new ways to take care of our mind, body, and most importantly, hair 😉.
As many of you know, we've made the switch to our Cedarwood Rosemary Shampoo Bar and couldn't be happier. For us, this was a MAJOR shift because of the heavy amount of damage we'd been doing to our hair for SO long.
From applying heat daily and training our luscious curls to stand at ease, to chemical processing with relaxers, dyes, you name it... let's just say, we weren't giving our hair the love that it needed.
Once we decided to move to a natural hair care routine, we INSTANTLY saw results.
Now, as always, we have to pause for a second to add the obligatory disclaimer. Different therapies work for different people. We by no means are asserting that any claims made in this blog post are the resolution because we do not have the credentials to do so. All claims in this post are merely opinion-based and nothing more.
With that said, we want to talk about rose water--made by distilling rose petals with steam or boiling water (IMPORTANT: If you are allergic to roses, don't try this at home kids).
Now that our hair is living wild and free, so WAS our frizz 😝. After using our Cedarwood Rosemary Shampoo Bar coupled with our Curl Enhancing Cream (which can be found exclusively at The Brookfield Barber--just give them a call for curbside pickup!), we found that we needed just one more thing to help tame our little stray aways.
According to Garnier USA, frizz occurs due to a lack of moisture in the hair causing our hair to look for moisture from the air, also resulting in humidity which makes things 10x worse! Queue our Rosewater Spray.
We found that rose water was a great solution for calming frizz and adding shine in the process. Paired with castor oil, which is also said to help with naturally taming hair because of its richness in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, it was the perfect solution for us!
Now don't get me wrong, it can be very tempting to revert back to our old ways sometimes because we have seen such great results. From hair growth to a natural shine, to a definition in our curls that we haven't seen since grade school... we can't believe we haven't taken to these routines sooner!
If you are looking to move to a more natural approach to taking care of your hair, we highly recommend checking out our HAIR PRODUCTS page.
You won't be sorry!!
