Ochabe Handmade designs handcrafted pieces for home decoration and fashion with unique designs that fuse contemporary trends with the art of artisanal weaving in natural fibers from the iraca palm.
Ochabe is a Colombian company based in Chicago and founded by Ana Mariá Márquez. Ochabe was born from the inspiration of her grandmother "Ocha" and great-grandmother "Machabe," who were creative and entrepreneurial women of indigenous descent; they passed on their weaving skills to their families.
Ochabe honors that legacy through the preservation of ancestral weaving techniques of the community of weavers from the municipality of Usiacuri, Atlántico, Colombia.
